For forty (40) years, Norbec Group has built a solid reputation as a North American leader in the manufacturing of prefabricated cold rooms and architectural panels. In a context of strong growth, Norbec is currently looking for a Plant Manager to ensure the start-up and management of a new plant specialized in manufacturing insulated and architectural metal panels. This new plan will be located in Strathroy, Ontario. Role: Under the supervision of the Director of Special Projects, the Plant Manager mobilizes employees towards the achievement of the organization\'s objectives while bringing Norbec\'s values to life on a daily basis. The Plant Manager actively participates in the company\'s operational and strategic planning process, in collaboration with the Leadership Team. In collaboration with other departments, the Plant Manager must demonstrate leadership and expertise in order to optimize the efficiency and performance of our operational processes and methods. Responsibilities:
  • Define the roles and organizational structure of the plant;
  • Develop workforce requirements, and participate in the hiring and training of plant and administrative staff;
  • Build a committed work team that fosters collaboration, innovation, and respect while being invested in the customer experience;
  • Conduct performance evaluations of employees under their direct supervision;
  • Develop, improve and optimize work methods;
  • Ensure the application of health, safety and environmental standards;
  • Implement performance indicators, and take the necessary steps to improve the effectiveness of these indicators;
  • Participate in the implementation of the company\'s strategic orientations;
  • Develop and suggest innovative initiatives and programs to promote employee retention;
  • Plan production in order to achieve objectives while meeting customer delivery requirements;
  • Implement and maintain a quality and continuous improvement program;
  • Ensure that environmental standards are applied in all plant operations;
  • Control raw material inventory levels to avoid shortages while ensuring adequate inventory turns;
  • Maintain the production equipment, and the building itself, in excellent condition by implementing the required maintenance programs;
  • Participate in the annual budget process and in the development of the annual strategic plan;
  • Work closely with other departments in the organization;
  • Demonstrate a high level of autonomy in their work and develop their team in the same way.
Requirements and qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree in mechanical, industrial or chemical engineering;
  • Bilingualism (English and French) an asset but not required;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English essential;
  • At least 10 years experience in a management position;
  • A recognized leader and skilled communicator;
  • Be organized, structured, and rigorous;
  • Have a good sense of analysis and a good capacity to learn;
  • Be dedicated and passionate;
  • Be a collaborator in solution mode, someone who can be relied upon.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Salary: $130,000.00-$160,000.00 per year Benefits:
