Makes sure that standards and procedures are followed, and that hygiene and health requirements are met to ensure that all products meet the established standards. Coordinates activities surrounding government and third-party audits and inspections. Manages governance of consumer and customer complaints. Whats involved in this roleReporting to the Plant Director, the Quality Control Manager assumes the following responsibilities:

• Responsible for ensuring the Burnaby Milk Plant manufactures products that meet customer and consumer expectations regarding food quality, safety and security.
• Determine the Quality Assurance and sanitation programs to be implemented in the Plant and support the Production Manager, Warehouse Manager and Supervisors to implement them.
• Update the Plants quality control standards and procedures manuals as needed to optimize product quality.
• Maintain and update HACCP Plans, Quality Programs, and SOPs to ensure they meet the requirements for all quality audits.
• Lead the Management Team on traceability exercises and in all quality audits from CFIA, GFSI and other organizations.
• Responsible as the SQF Practitioner.
• Use LEAN methodology and tools learned in training on Lean Manufacturing.
• Promote a positive work environment and adopt a culture of continuous improvement in areas of Quality, Health & Safety, Productivity and the Environment.
• Responsible for all employee/crew training on Quality issues including GMP, HACCP and SQF.

What you need to join our team

• Min five (5) years of experience in a similar position in the food industry.
• Bachelors degree in food science and technology or another relevant field
• Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English
• Excellent knowledge of the HACCP, CFIA & GFSI/SQF
• Proven leadership in a continuously improvement food manufacturing environment
• Analytical attitude, organizational and planning skills
