Your Opportunity:
As a Physiotherapist II you will provide Physiotherapy services to both Acute Care and Outpatient clients at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre. You will be expected to communicate and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team regarding your clients. Additionally, as a Physiotherapist II you will fulfill the Clinical Lead role for the Physiotherapy department in Rimbey, in which you will oversee day to day operations of the Physiotherapy department. In this role you will be supported by the Allied Health Area Manager and Physiotherapy Professional Practice Lead, with opportunities to connect with professionals in surrounding areas. You will provide clinical direction to Therapy Assistant and may, on occasion, be offered the opportunity to provide clinical placements for Physical Therapy or Therapy Assistant students. This role is at the Hospital in the heart of the town or Rimbey. Rimbey has a population of 2,496 providing a small-town friendly feel with easy access to three major cities: Red Deer, Calgary and Edmonton located less than 2 hours from town. Our community is nestled in the scenic Blindman River Valley amongst the rolling hills bordering the Rocky Mountains. Rimbey is the ideal area for fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, hiking, boating and boasts many parks. Amenities include a Library, Agricultural Centre, A Community Recreation Centre complete with Gym, Arena, and Curling club, Ball Diamonds, Lions Campground with walking trails, Soccer Fields, Playgrounds, and Outdoor Skating rinks. Gull Lake is 20 minutes from town and boasts a recreational beach with day use and playground, Marina, and a 9/18-Hole Golf Course and Club. This position may be eligible for a recruitment incentive between $5000-$25000 with either a 1, 2, or 3 year Return-for-Service Agreement
Description:
As a Physiotherapist II, you will provide coordination of physiotherapy and other allied health clinical services. You will provide supervision of students and team members as assigned. You will work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team providing leadership to other healthcare professionals. You will be making day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge and follow-up. You will make decisions and advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area to ensure safe, efficient and effective client care. You will ensure physiotherapy practice is evidence based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics and AHS policy and guidelines. You will be coordinating the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area and monitoring care delivery, identifying service needs and assisting other medical staff with caseload management, completing chart audits and providing follow-up and feedback to staff. You will participate in program development and operational planning and representing the department on committees or programs. You will make decisions on staffing level requirements, workflow, caseload priorities in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers. As we transition to our Provincial Electronic Medical Record (Connect Care) you will also be able to share patient information real time with these senior clinicians to assist you in providing high quality care.
