Commissionaires is a not-for-profit provider of security services that operates across the nation. There are now 15 divisions representing all the provinces of Canada and three territories. Commissionaires Southern Alberta is responsible for providing professional security services for Calgary, Red Deer, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, and Suffield. We have protected people and property for public and private sector clients from coast to coast for more than 90 years. The Photo Radar Operators are peace officers work within the Specialized Traffic Enforcement Unit of Calgary Police Service and are responsible for conducting enforcement at designated sites assigned to them through the Directed Deployment Program and set up their units in accordance with their training. They are responsible to make accurate notes of violations during their shifts and make necessary camera adjustments to ensure continued quality of violation images while in operation. The Operators are often called upon to present their notes in court and must be comfortable speaking in a public setting in front of a Judge. The work schedule for the successful applicant is a four on four off rotation but varies either 0600 \xe2\x80\x93 1600 hours or 1500 - 0100 hours. Court date attendances can be scheduled on days off. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION \xc2\xb7 Must provide proof of the successful completion of a minimum of High School, IQAS, or GED (Post-secondary is not accepted by the Solicitor General when applying for Peace Officer status.) \xc2\xb7 Advanced computer skills most notably Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook) are essential \xc2\xb7 Strong attention to detail, data entry and report writing skills \xc2\xb7 Successfully complete a CPS enhanced security clearance background check \xc2\xb7 Personable team player with a proven ability to operate independently in a wide variety of dynamic and challenging situations \xc2\xb7 Enthusiastic and self-motivated with strong organizational, time management and priority setting skills \xc2\xb7 High level of English fluency for speaking, reading and writing \xc2\xb7 Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment with minimum supervision \xc2\xb7 Proven ability to make informed decisions without unnecessary delay \xc2\xb7 Class Five Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License (no GDL) and a clean drivers abstract \xc2\xb7 Former Canadian military or RCMP a strong asset This list is not all-inclusive and other business requirements may be included to which the incumbent will be obliged to perform.
