Position Summary:
Beanfield is looking for a Permit Coordinator to join our team! Our Permit Coordinator is responsible for working closely with the Design & Construction teams to ensure all outgoing and incoming permit requests are submitted & have been logged in all applicable systems and are following expected timeline intervals. They will follow-up with utilities, Carriers and municipal staff to provide status updates on all submissions. Upon completion of all installations, they will send completion notifications and As-builts to the Municipalities and 3rd party Support Structure Carriers. They will participate in Toronto Public Coordinating Committee and permits and restoration committee as necessary.
Please note this position will be based out of our Bolton office.
Role and Responsibilities:
Permit Acquisition: Research and identify the required permits and licenses for specific projects. Prepare and submit permit applications to relevant regulatory agencies.
Monitor the status of permit applications and ensure timely approvals.
Communication and Liaison: Establish and maintain positive relationships with permitting agencies. Communicate effectively with internal teams to gather necessary information for permit applications.
Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and organized records of all permits, licenses, and related documentation. Provide support during inspections to verify compliance with permit conditions.
Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers and other relevant stakeholders to understand permit requirements for each project. Develop and maintain a comprehensive schedule for permit submissions and approvals. Alert project teams to potential permitting issues and propose solutions.
Policy and Regulation Monitoring: Stay informed about changes in regulations and policies that may impact the permitting process. Update internal teams on any new requirements or regulations affecting permits.
Other duties as required
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years working experience or equivalent education
Ability to read construction drawings
An understanding of Telecommunications / OSP construction
Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently
Technical software requirement: Google & MacOS applications
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Performs various administrative support duties in supporting the Construction team. i.e., preparing correspondence, organizing records and files for storage, sending out completion notices and closing off tickets as required
