Performance Marketing Manager (remote, Americas)

Job Description

Company Description

Shopify's mission is to make commerce better for everyone. From building a new product feature for our commerce platform, to helping a merchant troubleshoot an issue over the phone, we want to empower our ecosystem through our work.

Having a unified vision, a north star, is vitally important to ensure that we are all headed in the same direction. No matter the size or experience, we want to power every merchant's experience. This is why we're all here.

Shopify is now permanently remote, and we're working towards a future that is digital by design. That location you see above? Our Team:
We have a cutting-edge, expanding Search Engine Marketing team with high business impact and visibility, 9-figure budgets, dedicated support from Google and Bing, and wide-open opportunities for growth. We are looking for analytical leaders and SEM experts to grow our campaigns. Paid search advertising is our largest digital marketing investment. We work to drive high performing marketing campaigns that test often and prioritize innovation.

What You'll Do:

  • You will be responsible for launching, testing, analyzing and optimizing search campaigns using subject matter expertise and data.
  • You will drive new, high-value merchants to the Shopify platform within our efficiency targets.
  • Working closely with our engineering and data science teams, you will have the opportunity to help us lean into marketing tech and automation to drive additional scale to our program.
Qualifications
  • 4+ years managing SEM campaigns; ideally large-scale programs.
  • Strong experience with analytics tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, Mode, Tableau, and Google Analytics
  • Data visualization skills and the ability to translate complex data concepts into actionable insights.
  • Experience with SQL. You may not be able to write complex queries from scratch, but you have a high-level understanding of databases and how to query them.
  • Understanding of basic statistics and mathematical modelling concepts such as statistical significance, standard deviations, hypothesis testing, and regression analysis.
  • A track record of taking ownership over projects and helping them succeed.
  • A bias toward action: preferring to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Bonus if you have:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in a relevant subject (e.g., marketing, math, economics).
  • Master's degree in a related field and e-commerce experience is a plus!
