Opportunity MacEwan University is seeking an individual for Peace Officer for a full-time continuing opportunity with the Security Services department. As a Peace Officer, you will be responsible to work within applicable legislation, university policy and procedure, the criminal code, the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and all other provincial/federal legislation. To diminish any risk to the safe learning environment on campus and to protect MacEwan\'s assets. Peace Officers are held accountable to standards by virtue of the Peace Officer Act through their Provincial appointment and are accountable to all MacEwan policies. This position requires extensive foot patrols in and outside buildings, climbing stairs, and dealing with physical confrontation. Peace Officers engage and perform pro-active community duties aligned with Community Response models, including problem-oriented policing and SARA.
