Job Description

Robert Half has partnered with an expanding company who is searching for a Payroll Clerk to perform duties in order to support the day-to-day functions of the Payroll department in the Renfrew, Ontario area. This is a challenging position with an industry leader, where a self-starter can find strong career growth opportunity. The ideal candidate would be able to effectively communicate with both the internal team and outside customers. The Payroll Clerk\'s responsibilities will include data entry, reconciliation of timecards, paycheck distribution and providing statements to various departments. The selected Payroll Clerk candidate would be employed on a long-term contract / temporary basis.

Your responsibilities in this role

- Arrange data into spreadsheets and the payroll system

- Administer and distribute reports as instructed

- Deliver instruction/training to employees regarding the use of payroll-related systems including entry of timesheets, online access of pay statements, etc.

- Reach out to employees via phone and email to obtain timesheet approvals

- Data entry into spreadsheets and the payroll system

- Run and build custom reports

- Perform clerical duties such as filing, scanning, faxing, photocopying, etc
- Excellent oral and written communications skills

- High attention to detail

- 3+ years of previous payroll experience

- Ability to easily learn new systems

- Skilled in Payroll software

- Solid understanding of Government Remittances

- Canadian Payroll experience

- T4 experience preferred

- Data entry, document management, file creation and previous records experience required

- Highly organized, attentive, has a sense of urgency, flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
