JOB SUMMARY:



Under the general direction of the Director of Finance, the Payroll Clerk is responsible assisting the Payroll Lead in processing components of the bi-weekly pay and providing vacation relief when the Payroll Lead is absent.

DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

:



Under the direction of the Payroll Lead.

1. Verifies payroll hours, employee changes, and adjustments after import from Scheduling.

2. Runs and maintains assigned aspects of the payroll process and ensures accurate and timely transmission of bi-weekly Tabor Court payroll.

3. Maintains, generates and distributes the following payroll related remittances and reports on a timely basis:

WorkSafe - provides payroll information for claims reporting.

Municipal Pension Plan remittance and monthly/annual reports

Tabor Court Seniority, vacation, sick, special leave reports

Bargaining Units (BCNU, THEA) dues remittance and seniority reports.

4. Answers staff questions about payroll appropriately and refers questions not in scope of responsibility to the Payroll Lead or Human Resource department.

5. Prepares account reconciliations quarterly and for year-end audit.

6. Completes various other monthly financial reports as necessary and assigned by the Director.

7. Provides vacation and absence relief for the Payroll Lead position.

8. Organizes and maintains financial files and records.

9. Perform any other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:



Education, Training and Experience:



Bookkeeping/Payroll Certificate.

3 years of previous experience in Payroll (unionized, with 100 employees or more).

Previous experience in healthcare setting is an asset.

Skills & Abilities



Willingness to promote Tabor Home Mission, Vision and Values.

Highly proficient in using computers and software, including Excel, Word, Outlook and creating spreadsheets and generating reports.

Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team setting.

Demonstrated organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.

Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.

Physical ability to carry out duties of the position.

Ability to operate all related equipment.

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: $31.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
