Robert Half is actively seeking a Payroll and Benefits coordinator for our food wholesaler client located in Stoney Creek. The applicable candidate MUST come with previous experience in payroll, ADP Workforce Now experience, and be knowledgeable in understanding compliance, WSIB, benefits and payroll. Your responsibilities
Payroll Processing:
- Prepare and process bi-weekly or monthly payroll for employees using our payroll software.
- Calculate and verify time and attendance records, including overtime and paid time off (PTO).
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations regarding payroll and taxes.
- Address payroll-related inquiries and discrepancies in a timely manner.
Benefits Administration:
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
- Assist employees with benefit enrollment, changes, and claims.
- Collaborate with insurance providers and brokers to ensure the best offerings for employees.
- Stay updated on changes in benefits laws and regulations to maintain compliance.
Data Management:
- Maintain accurate employee records, including payroll and benefits information.
- Ensure data confidentiality and security of sensitive HR information.
- Generate reports and analyze payroll and benefits data as needed.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Stay current with federal, state, and local payroll and benefits regulations.
- Prepare and submit required payroll and benefits reports to government agencies.
- Assist with year-end reporting and W-2 processing.
- Ensures legal compliance to the Employee Standards Act of Ontario, Ontario Health
Employee Support:
- Provide excellent customer service to employees, addressing their payroll and benefits inquiries and concerns.
- Assist employees in understanding their compensation and benefits packages.
- Liaison between the insurance provider, Company, and Team Members
- Prior experience with ADP Workforce Now and Microsoft Excel (spreadsheet management, pivot tables, vlookups)
- Eagerness to work independently as well as part of a team with flexibility and willingness to learn and take initiative on variety of tasks and project
- Excellent written and verbal business skills
- Previous payroll experience
- Understand compliance, ESA, WSIB and payroll
