Job Description

Robert Half is seeking a skilled and organized Bookkeeper and Payroll Specialist to join our clients team on contractual basis. This role encompasses both bookkeeping responsibilities and payroll processing, making it essential to have a strong understanding of financial record-keeping, payroll regulations, and attention to detail. As the Bookkeeper and Payroll Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely and compliant payroll processing.

Payroll Processing:
- Handle end-to-end payroll processing for employees, including calculating hours, salaries, overtime, bonuses, and deductions.
- Enter and verify employee data changes, new hires, terminations, and other adjustments in the payroll system.
- Ensure accurate and timely distribution of paychecks or direct deposits.
- Benefits, Pension reporting, Union dues, WSIB, and year end payroll duties

Financial Reporting:
- Prepare regular financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Assist in analyzing financial data to provide insights and support managers in special accounting projects

- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or Payroll Specialist, showcasing strong knowledge of bookkeeping practices, payroll processing, and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and HRIS systems (such as ADP, Ceridian, UKG, etc.)
- Familiarity with payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Detail-oriented mindset with excellent organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
