A typical day:

ul

li
Support the full cycle payroll and manage the year end process
/li

li
Provide timely and accurate processing of payroll and reporting of payroll costs through the general ledger
/li

li
Liaise with government agencies and ensure all statutory tax and compliance requirements are met, which include preparing payroll reports for WCB/Labour standards inquiries remittances, etc
/li

li
Prepare journal entries, reconcile payroll and conduct required internal and external audits
/li

li
Lead for the payroll related modules in the HRMS and manage policy changes and collaborate with the HR team to ensure alignment and integration with all modules in the HRMS
/li

li
Prepare annual staffing and human resources budgets for Finance
/li

li
Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local payroll laws and regulations and internal company controls
/li

li
Mentor and coach other HR team members and internal stakeholders
/li

Must have:

Minimum 10 years of senior level payroll and benefit experience; experience mentoring/coaching others is an asset

Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PLP) designation required and Payroll Leadership Professional an asset
/li

li
Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Accounting, Administrative Support, or other related fields of study is an asset
/li

li
Experience with HR systems; Ceridian Dayforce experience or experience with the implementation of an HR system is an asset
/li

li
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adjust to any situation and maintain professionalism
/li

li
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and collaborative team player
/li

li
Strong analytical, technical, and organizational skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines
/li

li
Demonstrates a high level of integrity, confidentiality and discretion at all times
/li

Seeking a Senior Payroll and Benefits Specialist for a Full-time, Permanent position. Agilus is recruiting for a Senior Payroll and Benefits Specialist in the Oil and Gas Industry in Calgary, Alberta. A typical day:
