Pattern Maker and Technical Designer

to help us refine and expand our collection.

Role Description

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Pattern Maker/Technical Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in digital design and technical skills that bridge the gap between creative concepts and practical implementation. In this role, you will play a crucial role in developing innovative designs while ensuring they meet industry standards and client specifications. Please note that this role is fully remote, however, attendance is required for fittings taking place in the GTA.

Key responsibilities:

Create and refine digital and/or physical patterns, with a focus on accurate compression grading and anatomical fit Make precise pattern adjustments based on fit sessions and sample feedback Build and update detailed tech packs including BOMs, construction notes, and graded measurements Support new product development, including conceptual input, construction techniques, and material selection Assist with technical construction planning and communication with overseas and local manufacturers Collaborate on garment testing standards (e.g., stretch, compression, durability, comfort) Translate design intent into production-ready specifications with manufacturing constraints in mind

Qualifications

Knowledge and 5-7 years experience in pattern making Experience with women's wear; particularly activewear, performance wear, or medical apparel Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and remotely Passion for product optimization and creating novel solutions based on customer feedback Ability to attend occasional in-person fittings in Greater Toronto Area would be an asset Your own access to pattern making software Strong understanding of fit, garment grading, and performance material behavior of elastic garments Ability to interpret body measurements and translate them into garment measurements at different points of measurement Detail-oriented, communicative, and comfortable in a startup environment
