We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pattern Maker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fabricating patterns for FINE FABRICS and COUTURE STYLING. As a Pattern Maker, you will play a crucial role in the production process by creating precise patterns that serve as templates for manufacturing. This position requires a keen eye for detail, creativity, and the ability to work collaboratively within a SMALL STUDIO enviornment
Utilize various tools and equipment to create accurate patterns in (hard paper ) and then translate to muslin and actual finished product from beautiful silks, laces, wool and knit cut and sew fabrics.
Every season there will be a group of 12 dresses and 18 sportswear pieces.
Collaborate with team members to ensure that patterns meet quality standards and production timelines.
Conduct tests on prototypes to assess functionality and make necessary adjustments.
Maintain an organized workspace, ensuring all tools and materials are stored properly.
Maintain cleanliness of studio daily ( sweeping, garbage brought out, daily removal of any food products brought into studio )
You must be able to communicate fluently in English .
Be able to let supervisor know of any items needed as well as keeping fabrics/ notions organized.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Pattern Maker or in a similar role within a similar manufacturing / retail setting. an ideal candidate would have worked in bridal or evening gowns with some Canadian experience.
Strong understanding of pattern-making techniques and materials used in production.
Ability to create ,read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
Proficiency with hand tools,for cutting, working machinery ( minimum single needle machines, button hole machinery) used in pattern/sample garment
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Know when to ask questions and when to use previously answered questions.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
