Position Overview The Patient Care Manager (PCM) provides leadership for the health care team in promoting patient/resident centered care whilst promoting stewardship of financial resources; and ensures that adequate human and material resources are available to support the 24-hour delivery of safe, quality patient/resident care. This position is responsible in creating an environment that enables the facility or region to fulfill its mission and achieve established performance goals. As a transformational leader, the Patient Care Manager (PCM) seeks to promote and maintain professional, team oriented and service conscious environment wherein quality improvement opportunities are pursued, and risk is mitigated.   • Minimum of two (2) years demonstrated knowledge and skill in Leadership and Management in a health care setting.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Undergraduate Degree in Nursing or other related health care discipline required.
  • Graduate Degree in Nursing, Administration or other related health care discipline preferred.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) or affiliate professional registering body required.

  • Demonstrates leadership when fostering a non-discriminatory climate in which care is delivered in a manner sensitive to sociocultural diversity.
  • Demonstrates independent and collaborative decision making skills.
  • Demonstrates leadership when promoting interdisciplinary and collaborative environments.
  • Demonstrates leadership when collaborating with regional, site and peer administration, in determining the acquisition, allocation and utilization of organizational fiscal and human resources.
  • Demonstrates leadership and manages factors related to safety, outcomes, effectiveness, cost and social impact when developing and implementing practice innovations.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment. Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions across the WRHA legal entity that combine to equal more than 1.0 EFT. The WRHA legal entity includes Churchill Health Centre, Deer Lodge Centre, Grace Hospital, Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Pan Am Clinic, River Park Gardens, Victoria General Hospital, WRHA corporate programs, and WRHA community health services.
