Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in baking and pastry arts, with a focus on creating visually appealing and delicious desserts. The Pastry Chef will be responsible for preparing a variety of baked goods, decorating cakes, and ensuring all products meet food safety standards.

Duties

Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts according to established recipes and standards Decorate cakes and pastries with attention to detail, incorporating creative designs and themes Ensure all baked goods are produced in accordance with food safety and handling regulations Assist with food preparation tasks in the kitchen, including measuring, mixing, and assembling ingredients Package baked items for display or delivery while maintaining quality standards Maintain cleanliness of the pastry station and adhere to sanitation protocols Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new dessert ideas and menu items Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, notifying management when stock is low

Skills

Proven experience in cake decorating and pastry arts, preferably within a restaurant or bakery setting Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, baking, and food handling safety standards Excellent customer service skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure Familiarity with kitchen equipment used in baking and food production Ability to follow recipes precisely while also demonstrating creativity in presentation Good organizational skills for managing multiple tasks simultaneously Knowledge of food industry regulations related to food safety and sanitation Experience with packaging baked goods for retail or catering purposes is a plus
