About the Role
Collide Foundation ADHD Autism, is
urgently seeking a
licensed Paralegal
to represent us on a
civil/ criminal case
involving the
theft of over $35,000
. These funds were intended to support neurodivergent youth as they transition out of high school and into adult life, a time when services virtually disappear.
We're assembling legal action to
hold those responsible accountable
and you will be at the center of it.
This is a
remote contract role
with flexible hours. You will run the case independently, handling
Small Claims Court filings
, legal research, document drafting, and more.
Key Responsibilities
Draft and file court documents (e.g. Plaintiff's Claim, affidavits, evidence packages)
Conduct legal research related to civil fraud, theft, and misappropriation
Prepare timelines, organize exhibits, draft witness statements
Guide the nonprofit through Small Claims Court procedures and deadlines
Assist with strategy and communication regarding possible criminal proceedings
Collaborate with the leadership team to ensure documents are accurate, organized, and submitted on time
Qualifications
Licensed Paralegal in Ontario
(Law Society of Ontario - in good standing)
Experience with Criminal/Civil litigation
in
Small Claims Court
Knowledge of criminal/civil process or working with fraud cases is a strong asset
Comfortable working independently without lawyer oversight
Excellent written communication, organization, and research skills
Trauma-informed and committed to equity
Passionate about advocacy and helping underrepresented communities
