Spetter Zeitz Klaiman PC is seeking Commercial Litigation Paralegal

We are looking for candidates with 5+ years' experience working in a law firm environment to fulfill this role.

Spetter Zeitz Klaiman is a Toronto-based Commercial Litigation, Restructuring/Insolvency and Business Law firm. Leveraging almost 50 years of experience, we provide a wide range of legal support in banking and financing, restructuring, bankruptcy and insolvency matters, real estate, insurance defence, corporate and commercial law, and litigation matters. About the Role

We are looking for a Litigation Paralegal to manage a portfolio of Small Claims Court matters and provide support in Superior Court matters with our team of Commercial Litigators.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience as a litigation paralegal gained from a reputable law firm or corporation, with a strong preference for candidates with experience in debtor/creditor matters who possess an a P1 Paralegal license with the Law Society of Ontario. The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as research and analytical skills. Strong organizational skills, diligent attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize matters under tight deadlines are definite requirements.

Responsibilities:

Independently manage Small Claims Court files including all necessary documentation, filing, correspondence and communication with clients

Reporting to clients

Work with litigation team on Superior Court matters

Conduct research into case law, and other legal resources to support lawyers in building their cases

Draft various legal documents

Organize and manage case files, ensuring that all necessary documents are readily available and deadlines are met

File documents with the court
