Volunteer Ottawa is seeking a skilled, community-minded Outreach Coordinator to support our outreach activities and program delivery. This includes Volunteer Talks presentations, community tabling, membership onboarding, and assisting with volunteer management workshops.
The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, highly organized, tech-savvy, and confident representing Volunteer Ottawa in a variety of community settings. This role plays a key part in expanding VO's reach across the city, supporting members, and engaging volunteers and partner organizations.
This is a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension based on funding and organizational needs.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager of Operations, the Outreach Coordinator leads VO's community-facing programming and engagement activities. This includes coordinating and delivering Volunteer Talks (virtual and in person), staffing information tables at events across Ottawa, supporting membership engagement through virtual tours, and assisting with program delivery such as volunteer management workshops.
The coordinator is responsible for outreach planning, volunteer coordination, community liaison activities, and creating supporting communications materials.

Key Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and deliver VO outreach initiatives, including Volunteer Talks, information tables, community presentations, and local events (virtual and in person).
Build and maintain relationships with community groups, event organizers, post-secondary institutions, and member organizations to expand outreach opportunities.
Respond to incoming outreach requests and maintain an organized engagement calendar.
Represent Volunteer Ottawa professionally at community events, volunteer fairs, exhibitions, and information sessions.
Track and report on outreach activities, attendance, impact metrics, and engagement trends.
Coordinate and host online membership tours, helping organizations navigate VO's tools and understand membership benefits.
Assist with the delivery of VO's learning programs, including volunteer management workshops and related training sessions.
Support facilitators, instructors, and participants with logistics, registration, and communications.
Maintain accurate volunteer service records and ensure volunteers feel supported, recognized, and appreciated.
Lead volunteer recognition efforts to foster a strong culture of appreciation at VO.
Collaborate with VO's communications lead to create, update, and maintain outreach materials, presentations, speaking notes, and event collateral.
Contribute content for newsletters, website updates, and social media to support VO's marketing and outreach efforts.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience in a customer service, sales or public-facing role requiring strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with confidence in public speaking.
Ability to work independently, manage schedules, and balance multiple priorities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, virtual meeting platforms (Zoom and Teams), and general digital tools.
Experience coordinating, scheduling, training, or supporting volunteers or staff is an asset.
Experience using e-commerce platforms and working with WordPress websites is an asset.

Access to a personal vehicle
is required for travel to community outreach events across Ottawa (travel expenses reimbursed).
Ability to work some
evenings and weekends
depending on event schedules.
English essential;

Candidates must be based in Ottawa or willing to relocate prior to start date.
Work Arrangements
This position follows a hybrid model
, combining office-based work, remote work, and on-site event or community activities.
Regular local travel
within the Greater Ottawa area is required.
