Job Description

We are currently hiring an Optometric Technician to join our team in Vaughan, ON!

As a respected provider of eye care services since 2006, Dr. Rahim Hirji and his team take immense pride in delivering exceptional services to patients. As a technician / optometric assistant, you would play a critical role in assisting our optometrists and ensuring the highest quality of care.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare patients for eye exams by taking preliminary medical histories Assist optometrists in conducting comprehensive eye examinations Perform specialized tests such as visual field testing, OCT and retinal imaging Assist & perform i-Forma and IPL Dry Eye Treatments Educate patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and care Document patient information accurately in electronic health records Collaborate with the medical team to ensure smooth patient flow Conduct precise lens edging and cutting to match patients' prescriptions Assist patients with frame selection and ensuring a comfortable fit Perform repairs and adjustments on eyeglass frames Assist other members of the team with patient care and other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Position Requirements:

Previous experience as an Optometric Technician, including expertise in edging and frame repair, is preferred Strong understanding of lens edging, cutting, and frame repair techniques is preferred Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring demeanor Proficiency in using ophthalmic equipment and conducting tests Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and craftsmanship Team-oriented mindset with the ability to follow instructions closely Certification or training in optometric technology and edging is an advantage
