Job description
I am currently seeking a friendly and outgoing individual with good communication skills to join our tight-knit team as an optometric assistant/receptionist.
Requirements:
Self motivation: A quick learner who takes initiative to complete tasks independently.
Communication skills: Able to interact clearly with people in a professional manner. Must have excellent command of verbal and written English.
Organization skills: Must be detail oriented, computer literate, and keep accurate records to produce information quickly.
Multi-tasking skills: Able to take on different roles and responsibilities, to keep things organized, punctual, and running smoothly in a fast-paced environment.
Time management skills: Complete a wide variety of responsibilities throughout the day and to prioritize important tasks.
Team Player: Needs to be able to work as a team with other staff members to maintain patient flow, and can also work independently as needed.
Interpersonal skills: Be attentive and personable with patients. Keep a positive and cheerful attitude at all times with patients and other team members.
Duties/responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Greeting patients entering the office and ensuring safety protocols are being followed
Performing preliminary testing and operating optometric equipment including retina scan, OCT, visual field analyzer
Educating patients about contact lens wear, including insertion and removal training
Responding to phone calls/emails, schedule appointments, create invoices for services/products rendered
Maintain cleanliness and sanitization protocols in all areas of the clinic
General administrative duties
We work in a close-knit environment and fit is important to us. Previous experience is an asset but not a requirement, as training for all duties/responsibilities will be provided.
Starting hourly wage: $19+ per hour, commensurate with experience.

Experience:
Ophthalmic Technicians & Assistants: 1 year (preferred)
