Your Role
As an Optometric Assistant, you'll be an essential part of our clinic's daily operations--supporting the optometrist, assisting patients, and helping keep the office running smoothly. This role combines
clinical support, administrative tasks, and patient care
in a fast-paced but rewarding environment.
Key Responsibilities
Performing additional testing and diagnostic procedures (OCT, retinal imaging, dry eye screening, dry eye treatments, etc.)
Preparing patients for examinations and clearly explaining procedures
Scheduling appointments and maintaining accurate patient records
Answering phone calls and assisting with billing and insurance claims
Maintaining a clean, organized, and professional clinical environment
Delivering friendly, compassionate, and professional customer service at every visit
What We're Looking For
Experience as an Optometric Assistant or in a healthcare setting is an asset, but
not required
--we're happy to train the right candidate
Willingness to learn new skills and be cross-trained in multiple areas of the office
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Creative problem-solver who can think outside the box to improve office efficiency
Highly organized with strong multitasking abilities
Comfortable using computers and electronic medical records
Strong attention to detail--because in eye care, even the smallest things can make a big difference
Reliable and team-focused
Familiarity with optometric medical terminology, optical procedures & equipment is an asset
Fluency in English required;
Low German is an asset
