Qualifications you have:

-Organized

-Good with details

-Someone who has clerical, telephone and/or administrative experience

-Accountable and responsible

-Someone who likes to smile and likes helping people

-Interested in learning new things

- Computer proficiency (tasks usually include using our eyecare EMR & instrument software, sending emails, submitting online insurance claims)

-A strong communicator, especially verbal

-Great customer service skills

-Able to follow directions

-Flexible to work evenings and/or weekends (Saturdays)

-Someone who may have experience in an optometric setting (not required, but an asset)

-Available to work evenings and/or weekends (we are open Wednesdays until 7pm and Saturdays until 3pm)

Responsibilities (may increase with experience)

- Answering telephone calls from patients & other medical professionals, checking voicemail and recording/returning messages

- Scheduling appointments

- Checking patients in and out of their appointments and receiving payments (Visa, Mastercard, Debit or Cash)

- Submitting patient extended medical plan claims online

- Ensuring patients have been reminded about their upcoming (or to be booked) examinations via daily and monthly confirmation calls

- Preparing the office with daily admin duties to see patients

- Pre-testing patients before their eye exam with the optometrist, sanitizing after each use

- Co-Managing patient files/appointments with eye specialists (Faxing referral letters, coordinating care)

- Provide patients with over the counter product recommended by the optometrist (such as lid cleansers, eye drops)

- Performing visual field tests with patients when needed (training provided)
