Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the daily operations of our optometry practice. This position involves assisting with patient interactions and testing, helping in the optical with frame and lens purchases, managing front desk responsibilities, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the office.

Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes. Schedule appointments and manage patient records using electronic medical records systems. Conduct preliminary eye exam testing, including taking patient histories and performing basic vision tests. Assist in the fitting and dispensing of eyewear, providing information on lens options and frame styles. Maintain an organized front desk area, ensuring all necessary supplies are stocked. Educate patients on proper eye care practices and post-examination instructions. Collaborate with optometrists to ensure efficient patient flow during examinations. Handle sales transactions accurately, including retail sales of optical products.

Skills

Experience in pediatrics is a plus, enhancing our ability to cater to younger patients. Proficiency in front desk operations within a medical office setting is essential. Strong background in patient care, demonstrating empathy and effective communication skills. Sales experience, particularly in retail sales or optical environments, is highly desirable. Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to optometry practices is beneficial. Competence in using electronic medical records systems is helpful.

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
