Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional patient care and assisting ophthalmologists with various clinical tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong medical office experience and a passion for helping patients achieve optimal eye health.

Duties



Perform preliminary eye exams and diagnostic tests to assess patients' vision and eye health. Document patient information accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations. Assist ophthalmologists during examinations and procedures, providing necessary support for patient comfort and safety. Educate patients on eye care, treatment options, and the use of prescribed medications or eyewear. Manage front desk operations, including scheduling appointments, answering phones, and handling patient inquiries. Maintain an organized and efficient workflow within the office, ensuring all equipment is properly sanitized and functioning. Collaborate with optical staff to facilitate the sales of eyewear and related products. Utilize medical terminology effectively to communicate with both patients and healthcare professionals.

Requirements



Previous medical office experience is required; experience in an ophthalmology setting is preferred. Familiarity with electronic medical records systems; experience with Epic is a plus. Strong patient care skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism in all interactions. Experience in front desk operations, including appointment scheduling and patient communication. Knowledge of optical products and services; retail sales experience is advantageous. Understanding of medical terminology related to ophthalmology is essential. Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus but not mandatory. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are crucial for success in this role. Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
