Are you an experienced

Ophthalmic Technician

looking to join a patient-focused, state-of-the-art practice in Calgary? Serac Eye and Skin Care Centre is dedicated to providing the highest level of care with integrity and compassion, and we're looking for a dedicated professional to join our exceptional team.

We are seeking an CASUAL Ophthalmic Technician with minimum 1 years' experience in an ophthalmic setting., to cover sick days, and vacation days. Must be willing and availble to work 2 scheduled days per month to keep skiils up. COA certification will be considered an asset.



Hours may vary, therefore, must be flexible with hours to suit the needs as required of the clinic. Occasional Saturdays may be required (typically volunteered based)

Position Summary:



.As an Ophthalmic Technician, you'll perform essential patient care, ophthalmic testing procedures, and initial patient examinations under the direction of our physicians or supervisors. Your work will be crucial in supporting our ophthalmologists and ensuring patients receive proper counseling and recommendations.

What You'll Be Doing (Roles and Responsibilities)



Accurately perform patient screening and testin

g

, including: Patient History Visual Acuity Pupil Assessment Intraocular Pressure Skillfully perform diagnostic testing such as: Visual Fields OCT Fundus Photos IOL Master Keratometry Efficiently and accurately document all patient information in electronic medical records. Return and triage phone cal

ls

to patients and other healthcare professionals in a timely manner. Provide licensed eye care professionals with all necessary measurements and patient information to facilitate proper counseling and recommendations. Perform other tasks as needed to assist the ophthalmologist with patient evaluation and management, and maintain an appropriate work environment.

Experience with B scan/UBM is considered an asset.

Minimum

1 year of experience

in an ophthalmic setting.

COA certification
