Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess technical skills and have strong interpersonal skills to work in a small team environment. Prior experience is a big plus but we will train the right candidate as we are looking for a good fit with the team.

Responsibilities

Perform preliminary eye exams and diagnostic tests to assist the ophthalmologist in evaluating patients' vision and eye health. Document patient history and symptoms accurately in electronic medical records. Assist with the management of patient flow in the clinic, including front desk duties such as scheduling appointments and answering inquiries. Educate patients on pre-operative and post-operative care instructions as well as general eye health. Maintain and clean ophthalmic equipment to ensure optimal functioning. Provide optical assistance, including fitting and dispensing eyewear when necessary. Collaborate with team members to enhance patient care and streamline clinic operations.

Qualifications

Previous medical office experience is preferred, particularly in an ophthalmology or optometry setting. Familiarity with electronic medical records systems; experience with Plexia Strong background in patient care, demonstrating empathy and effective communication skills. strong keyboarding skills medical terminology Understanding of medical terminology related to ophthalmology Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism at all times. This is a fast paced position with high patient volume. Must be able to multitask and have a willingness and desire to learn new skills.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00-$27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
