Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be an International Medical Graduate (IMG), graduate of a Bachelor's program in science (Bsc) or International Nurse (license not required).
Responsibilities
Complete preoperative and postoperative measurements, offering clear explanations to patients throughout the process.
Review imaging maps to validate their accuracy.
provide outstanding customer service and patient care.
Perform preliminary patient work-up including visual acuity, lensometry, and auto-refraction
Assist ophthalmologists with patient examinations and minor surgical procedures
Conduct diagnostic tests such as visual field testing, and OCT imaging
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic medical records systems
Educate patients on eye care procedures, medications, and post-operative care instructions
Sterilize and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment
Coordinate patient scheduling and assist with front desk duties as needed
Experience
Experience in a medical office setting, preferably in ophthalmology or optometry
Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with electronic medical records systems
Proficiency with Epic software is advantageous
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: From $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 - 24 per week
