Operations Supervisor - Logistics - Primarily Remote (Job Number: 2310675 ) Operations Supervisor \xe2\x80\x93 FM VLC Penske Logistics is seeking a proven leader with relevant experience and skills to be our customer main point of contact and supervise transportation and logistics operations. The Operations Supervisor provides direction at a single location, working with different groups and leading salaried associates to ensure customer requirements are achieved while meeting our Penske goals and objectives. In this role, Operations Supervisors will be bonus eligible based on their performance and location performance. Operations Supervisor could earn up to 12% of their base salary for Max Performance. Monday to Friday, Day Shift One day in the office every week or two weeks Position Summary: Provide operational leadership to individual contributors and work closely with different teams to ensure the execution of tasks and activities including network routing, systems maintenance and improvement, transportation planning, and customer service operations in a manner consistent with company services and cost objectives. Supervises most processes directly and is accountable for project and work planning. Participate actively in customer financial activities like budget, quarterly forecast and month end. In addition, you are expected to partake in cost savings ideas, special projects and continuous improvement initiatives. The position has high visibility both internally and externally and will require interaction with senior levels of both organizations. Major Responsibilities: People

  • Communicate performance standards that are specific and measurable
  • Interview associates and provide recommendations for hire, monitor attendance, productivity, and other performance markers and provide counseling and/or recognition to associates as needed
  • Motivate and engage associates by focusing on team accomplishments and recognition
Operations
  • Works within a prescribed process using tools to analyze data, generate standard routing or load plans, and provide reports and metrics on a regular basis to ensure solution effectiveness
  • Supervise logistics operations including network routing, systems maintenance, shipping instructions, holiday planning, transportation planning and coordination of hand off with operations
  • Participate in process improvement teams and cost saving initiatives
  • Applies tactical processes daily within the established business rules
  • Meet customer deadlines and provide required metrics
  • Interacts with the customer by phone, email or in person on an as needed basis
  • Be able to resolve situations quickly, communicate status of problem, and work with the appropriate subject matter expert until it is fixed with the guidance of a more senior level associate
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
Finance
  • Support customer billing
  • Support specific customer financial requirements \xe2\x80\x93 Budget, Forecast, Accruals
  • 2 - 4 years related functional experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree preferred
  • Must have ability to connect and build rapport and relationships with associates and external customers at all levels
  • Must have ability to work efficiently with time management and organizational skills
  • Strong written/oral communication skills and the ability to actively listen are required
  • Ability to manage through a problem and think and make decisions independently
  • Ability to drive process improvement and lead change
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required
  • Must demonstrate ownership & responsibility to run the operation with a sense of urgency
  • DOT and dispatching experience preferred for dedicated contract carriage
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete a Penske employment application, submit to a reference verification (to include past employment and education) are required
