Position Summary

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Operations Supervisor (Warehouse) is primarily responsible for providing effective warehousing services, managing the department\'s resources and work processes cost effectively and efficiently in the attainment of business growth goals.

Location: 1488 Coast Meridian Road, Port Coquitlam

Schedule: Monday to Friday, Days

What you\'ll do

  • Completing all duties and responsibilities in line with Canada Cartage\'s Mission, Values and Leadership Qualities to Live By.
  • Ensure Company goals are met and exceeded in the areas of safety, quality, productivity and people measurement.
  • Promoting Health & Safety guidelines and operational policies and procedures.
  • Supervising warehouse staff including, training, development, coaching, and performance appraisals in area of responsibility.
  • Creating, planning, maintaining, and amending shift schedules.
  • Overseeing the effective routing and loading of outbound deliveries.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate entry of all customer required delivery progress updates.
  • Monitoring service levels to ensure maximum levels of customer and warehouse worker satisfaction.
  • Relaying information to respective Account Representatives and providing useful information regarding customer issues.
  • Ensuring successful loading and offloading of product including but not limited to check-ins/outs, pallet tags, signed paperwork, and load securement.
  • Coordinate and support any cross docking, de-stuffing and trans-load.
  • Conducting and handling warehouse claims and investigations including damaged product or inventory discrepancies, following proper reporting procedures.
  • Ensuring proper upkeep and maintenance of warehouse equipment including pallet jacks, forklifts, loading docks, and garbage bins.
  • Prepare weekly or monthly warehouse inventory report and invoices.
  • Overtime as required.
  • Continually strive to improve work processed, methods, environment, customer service and personal and team performance.
  • Other duties as required.
What you\'ll bring
  • Minimum of 2+ years in a supervisory, or lead capacity, preferably in the transportation, logistics, or warehousing industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong leadership and analytical skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks
  • MS Office proficiency necessary; Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
  • Direct experience with staff scheduling in a variable work volume environment required.
  • Successfully pass a criminal background check
