Our Team:

Our Sudbury Operations have been in existence for more than 100 years. With five mines, a mill, a smelter, a refinery, and nearly 4,000 employees it is also one of the largest integrated mining complexes in the world. Sudbury is also home to several administrative sites serving both the Ontario Operations as well as all our North Atlantic Operations.

The Opportunity:

We are currently seeking an Operations Scheduler to join our Integrated Operations Scheduling (IOS) team at Coleman Mine in Sudbury, Ontario. This is a permanent position.

As an Operations Scheduler, you will be accountable for the continuous improvement of the Integrated Operations Scheduling team\xe2\x80\x99s performance, through the effective use of established processes and procedures. You will also be accountable for the scheduling of all planned work for the Garson Mine operations.

Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Work Monday to Friday, 8 hours day shift.
  • Be a key member of the Integrated Operations Scheduling team to develop the mine (0-12 weeks) schedule for all operations (including production, fill, and shotcrete) utilizing resources.
  • Liaison with the daily shift scheduler on the mine schedule and priorities and work with the operations planner closely to schedule required work.
  • Coordinate and facilitate all required planning/scheduling routines. Contribute to and provide priority work by coordinating and scheduling all interactions based on priorities across departments (operations, maintenance, logistics, etc.).
  • Identify and escalate all critical issues that threaten the successful execution of the \xe2\x80\x9cwork schedule\xe2\x80\x9d.
  • Monitor KPIs and actively strive toward plant targets. Work with daily tracking of operations work execution and update metrics.
  • Work within budget, guidelines, and standards.
  • Establish and maintain work relationships with the various key plant stakeholders including superintendents, supervisors, other schedulers, planners, crew members, MTS, maintenance, etc.
About you

Education:
  • College diploma or university degree in a related industrial field or a university degree in a related engineering discipline is preferred.
Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in a planning, scheduling, or reliability role.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in operations is required.
  • Experience working underground is preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products is required.
Skills:
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and work well with others in a team environment.
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be obsessed with safety and risk.
  • Must demonstrate open and transparent dialogue in all aspects of work.
