The successful candidate will play a key role in driving the success of our finishing department through process optimization, strategic planning, and strong cross-functional collaboration. This role is responsible for overseeing the inside sales team tied to finishing, supporting resource planning, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring top-notch quality and customer satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identify and implement improvements to streamline operations
Develop and implement finishing strategies to align with the company goals and growth plans.
Optimize the allocation and utilization of resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials to maximize efficiency.
Lead, coach, and support the inside sales team tied to finishing operations
Partner with the Assistant Branch Manager to manage day-to-day activities of the inside sales team.
Train and coach order desk salespeople
Work alongside the Yard Manager to ensure door shop staff are properly trained on equipment usage and safety standards.
Oversee the flow of materials and products from suppliers to customers, ensuring timely delivery and accurate inventory levels.
Foster strong vendor relationships, with a focus on company program with local supplier.
Ensure that all products and services meet quality standards and customer expectations.
Provide onsite support and troubleshooting when necessary to maintain consistent quality.
Maintain strong working relationships with both account managers and customers to ensure clear communication and alignment on deliverables.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
3+ years of experience in operations, supply chain, or sales leadership, preferably in lumber, building materials or construction industry.
Proven leadership and team management skills.
Familiarity with finishing products, molding, door shop equipment, and inside sales operations required.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Ability to read building plans.
