JOB PURPOSE
The Operations Manager is responsible for providing effective leadership for all day-to-day operations to ensure customer demand is met, work is performed safely, and overall quality and production system objectives are met. This role will also look after and provide guidance to various department managers such as Production and Maintenance. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in identifying efficiency improvements and, working collaboratively with the team, developing and executing project plans throughout the company in areas including, but not limited to, sales, program development/launch, production, maintenance, quality, and purchasing
  • Determine and set objectives and methods of measuring the KPIs in various departments to develop and improve performance and systems
  • Frequently review key measurables with the Operations team to understand performance and identify areas in need of attention
  • Implement systemic countermeasures to prevent repeat occurrences of issues
  • Create plans for the company to achieve both long-term and short-term goals in an efficient manner
  • Capacity planning, while building flexibility and efficiency into all processes
  • Provide direction and support to areas such as maintenance, process engineering, quality, materials, and production
  • Identify resource needs and mitigate the needs accordingly
  • Review all aspects of production to identify risks and opportunities and put a plan in place to correct/mitigate/improve these opportunities accordingly
  • Manage resources and build contingency plans to meet customer requirements
  • Develop, document, promote, and update safe work practices, ensuring training is completed and documented
  • Promote MPC\'s core values and actively contribute to a positive and rewarding team environment
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Post-Secondary Education in Operations Management, Business Management, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated strong sense of initiative
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and develop a unified team environment
  • Must be comfortable speaking and presenting to an audience
  • Able to read and interpret various operations and quality-related documents
  • Able to successfully work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must be proficient with MS Office programs such as Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and statistical skills for problem-solving, organization, and work-planning ability
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple projects at a time
  • Must have a positive attitude and the desire to provide exceptional customer service, both internally and externally
  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines to produce desired results while ensuring safe work practices remain a priority
