The role of Peace Region Operations Lead focuses on conducting local business development, recruiting, facilitating a positive work environment, coordinating office operations, and acting as a liaison. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication skills and leads by example in conducting their work as a team member. The successful candidate will take on the role of Operations Lead as well as a technical role or Project Manager, as appropriate. Consideration will be given to those qualified candidates residing in Grande Prairie, Fort St. John, or other locations within the Peace Region of Alberta or BC.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
• Accountable to business development strategy, including developing and maintaining existing and new client relationships.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for operations/oversight in the Peace Region of Alberta and BC.
• Collaborate and participate in decision-making with the EDI Operations Team, leveraging local experience and insights on operational successes and challenges.
• Recruitment efforts, including assessing resourcing needs and participating in candidate selection and interviews.
• Manage office space allocations and adjustments to accommodate team dynamics and growth.
• Promote EDI's Health and Safety Policy, adhere to procedures and conduct inspections as required (e.g., monthly office inspections).
• Coordinate with IT support to resolve any technical issues promptly and prevent disruptions.

• The ability to conduct fieldwork in remote locations and/or travel between offices
• The aptitude to work collaboratively and effectively with junior, intermediate and senior staff of different disciplines, within teams on various projects of differing complexity, and with Indigenous groups, sub-consultants and government agencies
Job requirements include:
• A minimum of 5 years of related environmental consulting experience
• B.Sc. degree, diploma or B.Tech in biology or related discipline(s)
• Registration or eligibility for registration as RPBio, PBiol or PAg, considered an asset
• Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following:
• Soil classification, terrain and land use
• Vegetation, including wetland assessments, weed surveys and rare plant surveys
• Avian identification, including breeding bird surveys
• Fish and fish habitat assessments
• Wildlife surveys and habitat assessments
• Erosion and sediment control
• Environmental monitoring of construction
• Class 5 driver's licence
