Do you enjoy working outside and speaking with guests from all over the world? We are looking to recruit Lift Operations Lead Hands for the upcoming summer. Do you have at least one year of experience running chair lifts? You will support the Lift Operations Supervisors in daily operations and be stationed on one of our two lift-accessed mountains providing guests access to bike park! Compensation Information:

$21.85 per hour

Physical Requirement:

Medium, occasionally heavy.
Predominantly working in an outdoor environment in possible extreme heat.

This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.

Accountabilities:

  • Supervise all work in accordance and adherence with established safety and inspection procedures, including; line checks, obtaining loading clearances, daily log sheets, incident reports, shut down, and post operational procedures.
  • Supervise the operation of the Vehicle Parking areas, RV park and RFID ticket validation.
  • Give direction and coaching to staff and possess the ability to follow up when necessary.
  • Assist with overall planning and the execution of all team training needs
  • Oversee the proper and safe operation of the mountain lifts.
  • Work with the Department Manager/Supervisor to ensure effective communication and support flow in all staff human resource requirements.
  • Maintain excellent Staff/Supervisor relations.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping duties are performed including but not limited to; grass cutting, cleaning rubbish, sweeping paths, parking lot duties.
  • Present yourself in the highest standards of image and appearance with exemplary personal grooming and hygiene and a clean uniform on a daily basis, to set the example for your crews.
  • Assist lift maintenance staff with routine operational checks and startup of lift equipment.
  • Respond to all lift or people-related incidents that may occur in all aspects of lift operations.
  • Assist in the investigation of accidents/incidents as required
Ideal Candidate:
  • Minimum of one previous season as a Lift Operator at Sun Peaks Resort LLP
  • A team player with proven interpersonal and team supervisory skills and excellent guest service skills
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather extremes, physically fit and free from injuries, able to lift 40lbs for more than a few moments
  • Self-motivated with a strong personal work ethic and a keen eye for detail
  • Proven ability to show up, be consistent, have a good attitude and act with integrity
  • Strong knowledge in the operation of passenger ropeways
  • Related experience in lift maintenance or outside operations as an asset
