Adecco is currently hiring for a temporary, full-time Operations Geologist to work at a globally-known energy company in Calgary, AB. In this role, you will provide oversight of the wellsite geologists and will be the prime communicator from the field to the office for all geological related updates and information. You will also be responsible to document and present well results and learnings to the resource development teams and management on a regular basis. * Location: Calgary, AB

Duties and Responsibilities: * Exemplify Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) policies, procedures, standards and guidelines in the execution of all work

• Conduct geological handoff of subsurface information and interpretations from both the brownfield and greenfield teams (i.e., core data, logs, and drilling/production information) prior to execution
• Provide input and recommendations on wireline tools, coring, cased-hole logging, etc. for vertical delineation and observation wells
• Provide input and recommendations on LWD tools for horizontal drilling (working with the subsurface and petrophysics\xe2\x80\x99 teams)
• Be the primary point of communication with the drilling team (COSL) and field geologists
• Organize the ordering and storage of wellsite geological data (vials, iso-jars, core, etc.)
• Document and organize well logging and geological wellsite data
• Input finalized well data into Petrel according to internal best practices
• Work collaboratively with oilsands team members to integrate subsurface data
• Utilize a continuous improvement mindset to optimize the business and improve project economics
• Interpret 3D & 4D seismic and communicate interpretations to the field staff
• Responsible for geological presentations throughout the execution phase of a program including: DWOP, pre-drill, AAR and management presentations
• Provide information and present to the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER)

Requirements and Qualifications: * Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Geology is required

• Minimum 8 years of geological experience with at least 3 years of working operations is a must
• Operations experience in both horizontal and vertical wells would be an asset
• Previous experience working on the McMurray Formation with SAGD drilling knowledge is required
• Experience with brownfield and greenfield projects would be an asset
• Competent in the use of Petrel and Microsoft Suite
• Knowledge of analytical software such as Spotfire and Power BI would be considered an asset
• Ability to make concise logical decisions in a timely manner
• Ability to understand and operate effectively in a diverse and multi-cultural environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
