SSR Mining \xe2\x80\x93 Seabee Gold Operation (SGO) is hiring for an Exploration Geologist.

About Your New Role:

Reporting to the Project, Geologist, the Exploration Geologist is part of SSR\xe2\x80\x99s Au-Cu exploration programs and collaborates with other departments of the company. The Exploration Geologist plays an important role in gathering good geological practices in terms of supervising, planning, logging and sampling, mapping, 3D implicit modelling, interpretations of the models, compliance with SSR\xe2\x80\x99s best practices (including highest HSEC standards), QA/QC and reporting.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and plan exploration drilling programs and technicians.

Ensure and plan field activities in a safe manner.

Describe and sample the drill core or the RC cutting.

Interpret the assays result and produce/execute an exploration model.

Assist the mine operation meetings and the monthly safety meeting.

Develop the weekly planning schedule, with operations and engineering.

Create, verify, and implement procedures for exploration department.

Verify that the QA/QC is properly respected in the sampling process, drilling, geotechnical work, or any other activity.

Review the resource models and help SSR\xe2\x80\x99s geoscience teams.

Examine the exploration activities to ensure that they are safe.

Travel extensively and internationally.

Your Knowledge and Skills:

Strong ability to communicate effectively both oral and written.

Experience working in a multicultural environment.

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.

Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.

Knowledge of software: Leapfrog, ArcGIS are an asset.

Your Education and Experience:

The successful candidate will have:

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Geology and/or Geological Engineering.

Experience in mineral exploration.

About Our Working Conditions:

This position has a schedule of 22 days of work followed by 8 days of rest at our remote camp which you will be required to fly in fly out with pick up points in Saskatoon, Prince Albert and La Ronge.
