Job Description


Collingwood Charters is hiring for the position of Operations and Events Manager. We are a local family run tour boat business in the beautiful Town of Collingwood. We offer sightseeing and sunset tours as well as dinner cruises and an extensive list of Live Music cruises. We also host a variety of private events ranging from celebrations of life to weddings, staff functions to business meetings, birthdays, anniversaries, you name it! We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and organized person to manage our staff, events and daily operations of our business. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Passion for customer service
  • Schedule, train and oversee personnel
  • Fill in as Deckhand if needed
  • Must be able to work some weekends and evenings
  • Understand requirements and details of each event
  • Understand clients\' needs and wants
  • Come up with suggestions to enhance tours and events.
  • Plan and organize events with attention to financial and time constraints
  • Meet with clients and coordinate with them regularly
  • Look for and compare different vendors (catering, decorators, musicians etc.)
  • Manage all event operations (preparing venue, food, drinks etc.)
  • Track the overall daily expenses regularly
  • Offer solutions to resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Ensures payroll is complete, accurate and on time for department
  • Evaluate event\xe2\x80\x99s success
  • May be required to load and unload supplies onto the boat
  • Answer daily booking inquires via phone or email in a timely manner
  • Manage relationships with key operations vendors
  • Communicate customer issues with operations team and devise ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints

Work Hours and Wage This position is seasonal from April to the end of November. Its based on a 40hr workweek depending on the daily tour schedule and special events. Salary will be between $40,00-$45,000 depending on experience Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 8 months Salary: $40,000.00-$45,000.00 per year Schedule:
  • 8 hour shift
