Operations Business Analyst

Scope: Egg Farmers of Canada (EFC) is seeking an Operations Business Analyst to join the Operations team in a dynamic and complex work environment. The ideal candidate for this position will have 1-5 years’ of experience in business analysis and will be responsible for providing analysis, reports, and recommendations with respect to EFC’s operational requirements. Working in the Business Management unit in a team of three, the Operations Business Analyst will be comfortable working with Excel and analyzing data to understand and solve business problems. The Business Management unit is responsible for projects that require coordination across the industry with a focus on operational efficiency and change, including processor pricing, industry data, and database improvements. Level of responsibility will be commensurate with experience.
Duties and Responsibilities: Research and Analysis

• Data collection and reconciliation
• Perform macro- and micro-analytical activities relevant to Canadian egg markets
• Produce reports and presentations outlining the research and analysis of results
• Provide insight and recommendations to management
• Complete ad hoc analysis as assigned and outlined by the Manager

Improvement and Development of New Programs

• Contribute to the improvement and development of new programs in the following ways:

• Project leadership and coordination
• Strategy and policy recommendations
• Data gathering
• Analysis

Execution of Existing Programs

• Provide analysis, calculations and ongoing reports relevant to program management

• Administrate the Processor Protocol, including: routine calculations, process improvement, process documentation, implementation of updates to the calculation method; weekly publishing, and maintenance of databases

• Provide operational routine reports and document standard procedures
• Contribute to continual process improvement

Qualifications/Skills:

• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (pivot tables, if statements, vlookups)
  
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task, take initiative and be results-oriented
• Ability to apply logical and evaluative thinking to problem identification and resolution
• Experience with Tableau will be considered a strong asset
• Presentation skills will be considered an asset
• Project management experience will be considered an asset

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Logistics or related discipline
• 1-5 years’ of relevant experience
• Master’s in a related field will be considered an asset
