We have a full-time position for an Operations Business Analyst in Calgary, AB. Under the direction and guidance of the IT Business Relationship Manager, the Operations Business Analyst works collaboratively with users to capture current and future state requirements to understand gaps and opportunities in IT system functionality and processes to enable the best use of technology and tools. The Operations Business Analyst collaborates to ensure stakeholder interest is represented during the planning and development of IT business systems and processes upgrades and implementations. In addition, they will play a part in ensuring there is consistency in policies, procedures, standards and processes across IT applications and processes. The Operations Business Analyst will proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: business requirements, functional requirements, use cases, user stories and UAT test cases. They will have experience engaging with business teams in the areas of procurement and purchasing, fleet maintenance, asset receipt and logistics, accounting and finance, reporting, legal, compliance and auditing. They will understand the processes involved in the operations and procure to pay lifecycle from requisition, sourcing, purchase orders, receiving, invoice processing, payment, asset maintenance, reporting, compliance, and auditing. The ideal candidate will have an analytical and process-based approach to tackling projects with excellent communication and analytical skills. They will have a logical approach and intuitively understanding the end-users needs, breaking down complex processes into understandable information and requirements, while identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement. They will be effective in building relationships across the organization, at all levels, and have strong change management skills. Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in planning IT deliverables: \xc2\xb7 Collaborate in assessing products and platforms \xc2\xb7 Work with the business and IT to validate intake planning \xc2\xb7 Analyze risk and priorities \xc2\xb7 Understand, support, and deliver on the corporate roadmap, vision, and goals IT User Relations \xc2\xb7 Assist in periodic systems validation reviews \xc2\xb7 Be champion for IT Services \xc2\xb7 Assist in managing change \xc2\xb7 Assist with defining/establishing project priorities and objectives \xc2\xb7 Assist with project scoping and identifying information sources \xc2\xb7 Assist in establishing metrics and success criteria including risk and cost benefit analysis \xc2\xb7 Develop and present business cases including feasibility under the direction of their leader \xc2\xb7 Document and maintain weekly updates on the status of plans, deliverables, and associated communications materials. \xc2\xb7 Continuously seek for ways to improve/ streamline the way we work and how we service our customers and stakeholders User requirement discovery and process design: \xc2\xb7 Conduct discovery/business requirements sessions \xc2\xb7 Support problem resolution through root cause analysis and strategic, creative thinking \xc2\xb7 Conduct interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, and other business analysis techniques to accurately define business requirements. \xc2\xb7 Evaluate critical information from multiple sources, reconciles conflicts, and translates high-level technical information for general understanding. \xc2\xb7 Work with technical teams to turn end user and business requirements into documented solution design and implementation plans \xc2\xb7 Process design, user stories, solution design \xc2\xb7 Create UAT test cases and facilitation of UAT in support of system deployment \xc2\xb7 Adhere to project and production change control \xc2\xb7 Ensure documentation is updated \xc2\xb7 Assist in reviewing system functionality; test and quality assurance \xc2\xb7 Design test plans/scripts to confirm reporting accuracy and system configurations meet desired business processes \xc2\xb7 Gather and present requirements to development team to provide specifications for developing solutions \xc2\xb7 Provide input and recommendations regarding system/business process changes and improvement. \xc2\xb7 Prepare, maintain, and update reports and other business documentation as required. \xc2\xb7 Pro-actively identify and communicate issues/tasks and follow-through \xc2\xb7 Support ongoing updates to and creation of training materials \xc2\xb7 Communicate effectively with stakeholders to assess any gaps between business areas and enterprise systems.
