Office Administrator / Receptionist - Dental Clinic (Part-Time, Maternity Leave)



Location: Goderich, ON (Huron County)

Employment Type: Part-time, maternity leave contract

Contract Term: Through February, 2027

Reporting to: Office Manager

Wage: Competitive based on experience

Role & Responsibilities



Greet patients, answer phone calls, manage reception area, and schedule appointments Coordinate check-ins, intake forms, and insurance pre-authorizations Handle billing, invoicing, insurance claims, collections, and payments Maintain accurate patient records while upholding privacy and confidentiality standards Manage day-to-day administrative tasks (filing, correspondence, email) Coordinate with dentists, hygienists, and clinical staff to ensure smooth office flow Optimize the appointment schedule to ensure efficiency and productivity Manage recalls and maintain the patient database (appointments, confirmations, changes, cancellations) Prepare and process referral letters and other patient correspondence Assist with treatment planning and treatment coordinating Provide warm, professional customer service in a busy, fast-paced environment

Qualifications & Skills



Required / Preferred:

Previous experience in medical/dental/office administration is an asset (not required for the right candidate) Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with a professional, friendly demeanour Excellent organization, attention to detail, and time management skills Ability to multitask accurately and handle a high volume of activity Proficient with Microsoft Office and comfortable with general office software Tech-savvy and able to troubleshoot basic computer/electronic issues Team player who can also work independently with sound judgment
Bonus / Assets:

Knowledge of dental terminology, treatment codes, and procedures Experience with ClearDent, SafeReferral, Sidexis, and Recall Max/Max Assist HARP certification or a Dental Assisting background

Schedule



Part-time hours with shifts scheduled between Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Final schedule to be set based on clinic needs and candidate availability during the contract period.
