Under the supervision of the Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator, the Advisor will manage the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety prevention activities and programs. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for monitoring and updating the lockout, confined space, and hazard analysis program. They will help develop and promote a positive occupational health and safety prevention culture.

Job Duties:

  • Act as a point of contact for all workplace prevention requests and communicate good health and safety practices
  • Provide support for the development of appropriate processes and document management of lockout and confined space mechanisms
  • Ensure that the Health and Safety policy, standards, and procedures comply with internal and government requirements
  • Respond to and notify supervisors of any unsafe conditions and recommend corrective measures
  • Take part in various health and safety management committees and activities
  • Coordinate planning activities for lockouts, confined space entry, hazard analysis, and appropriate work methods (POS)
  • Conduct preventive inspections and audits to ensure compliance with our processes and prepare observation reports
  • Participate in accident analyses and investigations
  • Help develop prevention tools and provide recommendations for health and safety improvements and changes
  • Promote a culture of prevention focused on individual and collective responsibility for occupational health and safety within the organization
  • Support the Health and Safety Coordinator in achieving various objectives

The starting range for this role is is $72,000 to $96,000 or higher, depending on your experience
