Under the direction of the Manager, Program Services Continuing Care Education, the Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) integrates knowledge and skill reflective of the former Regina Qu'Appelle health Region's (SHA) Health Services models of care. The CNE will provide education and training rooted in the principles of patient centered care in clinical settings and professional development of nursing staff specific to a defined group of clients. The incumbent will support nursing staff to ensure they have necessary skills, knowledge and competence to deliver high quality patient care. In collaboration with the CNE Supervisor and other stakeholder such as leadership in continuing care homes, hospital and the SHA the CNE is responsible for assessing learning needs of staff, planning, implementing, and evaluating education activities/programs. The Clinical Nurse Educator will use a consultative approach and research findings to provide support to Care Staff and other Support Staff in long term care facilities, community hospitals, integrated care facilities, and the Alternate Level of Care Unit in the RQHR. Positions will have specific responsibilities related to specialized client needs and clinical knowledge needs in the SHA.

Requires experience in program/resource development related to needs assessment.
Requires experience in planning, program design, implementation, and evaluation.
1 year previous experience in adult education
Experience in teaching adults, facilitation skills, and leading group activities
3 years experience in clinical area within the past 5 years
Education
Graduate from an approved School of Nursing
Licenses
Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
Other Education and Training
Requires or in progress towards a recognized Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing
