Major Duties


Works with the customer and ATS Automation Tooling Systems Inc. Nuclear Engineering team to develop, test, and implement system solutions that meet the customer\'s process requirements including prototype machines or systems. Direct responsibility for controls software systems, with input and support for controls hardware and mechanical design.

Specific Responsibilities



Primary responsibilities:
  • Accountable for the system or tooling testing. Executes testing, prepares test reports.
  • Responsible for learning a customer process and becoming the local expert in it to support the execution of the MCR project.
  • Provides input and technical support to the Fuel Channel and Feeder Replacement construction team.
  • Assisting the maintenance crews with resolving issues associated with maintenance and testing of nuclear service tools
  • Assisting with training of personnel with the operation of specialized nuclear service tools
  • Setup of controls, computer systems and cabling for tool testing and troubleshooting operations
  • Assisting in the preparation of a recovery plan or the implementation of a troubleshooting plan when work begins to deviate from the plan
  • Advise customer on solving technical problems.
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct.
  • Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • These responsibilities are subject to change as a function of the individual\xe2\x80\x99s abilities.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and execute project deliverables on schedule and budget.
  • Responsible for communicating schedule update and progress on tasks to the Manager, Nuclear Engineering and the Project Manager.
  • Assists with continuous systems design improvements on all nuclear tooling.
  • Willing to work as a Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW), and work in radioactive environments including nuclear site work.
  • This position requires work at Bruce Power facilities in Kincardine and Tiverton.
  • Candidates must be eligible to be security cleared to work at a Nuclear Power Plant.
  • Shift work may be required.



Qualifications



Education:
  • A post-secondary degree A post-secondary engineering degree, diploma or equivalent, specializing in mechanical, electrical, systems or computer engineering.

Experience:
  • Strong programming, mechanical and electrical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Understanding of SCADA, Siemens S7 PLC control systems and machine operation with hands-on experience is desirable.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
