April 1, 2023 Calgary, Alberta, Hybrid Wednesday and Friday are work from home 40 hours a week Core Tasks:
Administering corporate accounting standards, financial controls and related processes, e.g., assisting with contract invoicing, shipper balance/position statements, carrier\xe2\x80\x99s inventory, recording oil loss expenses, analyzing measurement variance for non-complex pipe(s) and applying corrections, processing routine daily and monthly oil balance recovery, name changes, amalgamations, asset sales, operator changes, providing reports to appropriate authorities, etc.
Providing frontline support for basic customer queries, e.g., shipper balance discrepancies, prepayment requests, invoicing, new services, etc.
Providing input regarding improvement of processes and customer account management
Coordinating the flow of basic information to stakeholders internally and externally
Complying with established oil accounting processes/procedures, e.g. industry equalization, accounts receivable cash applications and routine analytical reports
Managing and applying cash receipts to outstanding accounts receivable and reaching out to customers who are behind. Mainly by email, later by phone if escalated
Qualifications General Skills and Abilities
Interpersonal skills - On a regular basis, this person will be working with people within and outside of the organization
Ability to work in a team environment - This person will work closely with teams from different business units in a collaborative environment
Time management and the ability to adhere to deadlines - There are deadlines imposed by both industry standards and internal teams for certain tasks to be completed.
Initiative - This person is expected to be proactive with issues when they are encountered
Verbal and written communication skills - Professional communication with others is a critical aspect of the role

Digital and Technical Skills
Beginner to intermediate skill level with the Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to use standard business software such as video conferencing and calendars

Education/Knowledge
A 2-year diploma in accounting from a recognized post-secondary institution or an equivalent combination of accounting or industry related education OR a 4-year degree in any business, financial or accounting field.
Knowledge of financial journal entries

Join our talent pool (if you haven\xe2\x80\x99t already): Complete a talent pool questionnaire and a \xe2\x80\x9cWorkplace Skills Inventory\xe2\x80\x9d (about your situation, job skills and how you work best), and a pre-employment assessment (this is an additional way to show your job skills/abilities instead of interviewing).
Create a job-specific Candidate Profile: If you meet the qualifications of the role, our talent acquisition team will give you access to your Candidate Profile. You will use it to answer job specific questions and/or complete a work sample exercise to showcase your skills for this role. This is what employers will use instead of using your resume or interviewing you.
Meet with a Specialisterne facilitator. After you have completed your Candidate Profile, a Specialisterne facilitator will book a thirty minute meeting with you to discuss your application.
Next steps:
The employer will review compatible Candidate Profiles to select the best candidate for their job.
Then, selected candidates will have an opportunity to meet with the hiring manager so that they have an opportunity to learn a little more about you, and you have an opportunity to learn a little more about the job
