MES Developer

Full-Time

Target Start Date: September 2023

Toronto - Hybrid - Frequency of in-office work will depend on project needs

8:00am - 6:00pm

Core Tasks:

  • Work closely with senior designer to design, develop, document, and implement Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to produce documentation, develop software solutions, install and configure system software, commission MES system at client sites.
  • Documentation of MES configuration to create solution documentation representing \xe2\x80\x9cas built\xe2\x80\x9d details.
  • Work closely with business management and users to strategically define the needs and design solutions that add value
  • Gather, document and analyse the information needs of the business and ensure appropriate solutions are delivered
  • Communicate with clients, team leads, team members, other teams to deliver successful projects
Qualifications

General Skills and Abilities
  • Time Management - Coordinate tasks with team and complete on time
  • Problem Solving - Evaluate complex problems, either individually or as part of a team. Develop and execute efficient solutions.
  • Communication Skills - Active listening to clients, leads, and team members. Effectively communicate verbally and in written form.
Digital and Technical Skills
  • Basic to Intermediate skill level with any programming language (Oracle, SQL, C#, .NET, etc.)
  • Ability to create written documentation and presentations
  • Nice to Have (Not Required)
  • Basic skill level with development and configuration of MES platforms (HMI, SCADA, etc.)
  • Basic skill level with technical documentation of requirements, design, and estimation of MES projects
  • Basic skill level with Microsoft .NET software development

  • Between Basic and Intermediate
  • Intermediate - I can do this in most situations, with occasional guidance
  • Between Intermediate and Expert
  • Expert - I can do this in exceptionally difficult situations with no guidance and I can be a key resource for others.
Education/Knowledge
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Nice to have (not required)
  • Manufacturing Knowledge - Demonstrate knowledge of manufacturing concepts including performance, safety, data collection and reporting, and operations
Experience (Professional, Academic, Personal)
  • Nice To Have (Not Required)
  • Experience in software development and systems configuration in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience developing HMI and SCADA systems
  • Experience in solution design in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with basic manufacturing concepts and applications

The Recruitment Process

  • Create a job-specific Candidate Profile: If you meet the qualifications of the role, our talent acquisition team will give you access to your Candidate Profile. You will use it to answer job specific questions and/or complete a work sample exercise to showcase your skills for this role. This is what employers will use instead of using your resume or interviewing you.
  • Meet with a Specialisterne facilitator. After you have completed your Candidate Profile, a Specialisterne facilitator will book a thirty minute meeting with you to discuss your application.
