Job Description



ADGA is hiring a Network Administrator to assist the Army Network Operation Centre (NOC) personnel with the planning function of a NOC. This will ensure future expansions, enhancements, and capabilities development of the program are tailored to satisfy the current and future operational requirement of the Canadian Army.



This includes:

• System Architecture Management. Conduct audits on current system architecture and make recommendation on overall architecture, resource allocation and configuration based on current Canadian Army operational requirements. Work closely with Canadian Army G6 Network Operations (NetOps), Directorate of Digital and Army Combat System Integration (DDACSI) and DLCSPM, assist in the option analysis, planning and execution of the next generation LC4ISR system architecture to reflect future Canadian Army operational and allied interoperability requirements while remaining in-line with life-cycle materiel management (LCMM) constraints;
• Network Architecture Management. Conduct audits on current network architecture and make recommendations on overall architecture, resource allocation and configuration based on current Canadian Army operational requirements. Work closely with Canadian Army G6 NetOps, DDACSI, DLCSPM and other Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Information Management/Information Technology entities, assist in the option analysis, planning and execution of the next generation LC4ISR system architecture to reflect future Canadian Army operational and allies inoperability requirements while remaining in-line with LCMM constraints; and
• Security Architecture Management. Conduct audits on current security architecture and make recommendation on overall architecture, resource allocation and configuration based on current Canadian Army operational requirements. Work closely with Canadian Army G6 NetOps, Information System Security Officer (ISSO), DDACSI, DLCSPM and Canadian Forces Information Operations Group (CFIOG), assist in the option analysis, planning and execution of the next generation LC4ISR system architecture to reflect future Canadian Army operational and allied inoperability requirements while remaining in-line with LCMM constraints.



Qualifications

• A minimum of a of STEM diploma (2 year minimum) in networking, software, computer, systems, electrical, or a suitable engineering or technical field required to support the program.
• A minimum of 1 year of demonstrated experience within the last 10 years in all of this assessment area's criteria:
+ Planning, installing, managing and implementing network architectures;
+ Windows 2003 Server or higher system administration;
+ Managing TCP/IP, Network file system, and name servers;
+ Microsoft Exchange Server administration;
+ SQL Server Administration;
+ SMS Server Administration;
+ Preparing and implementing network policies and procedures;
+ Managing network personnel and Networking security;
+ Managing Internet services (e.g. web servers, ftp servers, etc.);
+ Gateway, bridge and router management; and
+ Management and security of systems connected to the Internet.
• A minimum of 4 years of demonstrated experience within the last 10 years in the preparation of technical concept documents, system specifications, and technical proposals in the field of Information Technology / Information management or engineering (i.e. System, software, computer, communication, security, or simulation) experience.
• A minimum of 48 months of demonstrated experience in each of this assessment area's criteria:
+ Drafting and developing presentations and briefings regarding network status and issues to management;
+ Providing advice, guidance and recommendations on technical issues to support the decision-making of management;
+ Participate in multidisciplinary teams in the development and support of IT tactical systems or multi-site Enterprise Networks.
