Mobile Preventative Maintenance Yard Technician
The Mobile PM Yard Technician is responsible for servicing/repairing SOUTHLAND school buses in a safe, efficient, and effective manner. This position is not confined to shop activities, as the Mobile PM Yard Technician is required to perform field work on down buses.
Hours of work: This is a compressed work week position. Hours of work are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with a one-hour unpaid lunch break each day. Overtime will be paid if hours exceed 44 hours in a work week, in accordance with Employment Standards.

• Ongoing maintenance/repair of buses
• Travelling between multiple yards to perform Preventative Maintenance scheduling
• Diagnosing equipment problems
• Spring and winter maintenance
• Complete all documentation associated with equipment repairs
• Work with shop management to maintain schedules and priorities
• Follow SOUTHLAND procedures and guidelines
• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment

Requirements

• Must hold a valid Journeyman Ticket
• 4th-year apprentice will also be considered
• Own hand tools
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• 2 - 5 years related experience
• Valid Driver's License (Class 3 or 2 considered an asset)
• CVIP (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program) License is considered an asset
• Exposure to working on diesel engines
• Analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to comprehend/operate diagnostic and manual measuring tools, including micrometers, brake drum gauge, Ohmmeters, and AVR (Amps, Volts & Resistors)
• Computer proficiency

Remuneration

• Commensurate with experience
• Bi-weekly pay period (every second Friday)
