Horizon Moving & Transportation is a growing, locally owned moving company serving Fort McMurray and across Alberta. We are seeking a
hands-on Operations Manager
to lead day-to-day moving operations, manage staff, and ensure jobs are executed safely, efficiently, and with exceptional customer service.
Salary:
$5,000 - $6,000/month (full-time, based on experience)
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (evenings/weekends as needed for urgent moves or coordination)
Core Responsibilities
Oversee daily moving operations, staffing, and dispatch scheduling
Ensure trucks, equipment, and crews are ready for all jobs
Train, supervise, and motivate moving staff
Coordinate with Client Services team on bookings and client needs
Resolve on-site issues and support crews during moves
Monitor compliance with safety protocols and company standards
Manage operational reporting, payroll hours, and inventory of supplies
Support hiring, onboarding, and ongoing team development
Desired Skills & Attributes
Strong leadership and team management experience
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making under pressure
Knowledge of moving, logistics, or transportation operations (preferred)
Strong organizational and multitasking ability
Reliable, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license (Class 3 or higher is an asset)
