We are seeking a skilled Metal Polisher to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for finishing metal components to meet quality standards, ensuring a smooth and polished surface finish. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and familiarity with various fabrication and machining processes. The Metal Polisher will play a crucial part in delivering high-quality products through precise polishing, inspection, and preparation of metal parts for assembly or shipment.
Responsibilities
Polish and finish metal surfaces using hand tools, polishing machines, and abrasive materials to achieve desired surface quality.
Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure compliance with specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and machining instructions to understand surface finish requirements.
Operate fabrication equipment including CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, CNC milling machines, CNC lathe, stamping presses, and press brake machines as needed.
Assist with fabrication tasks such as welding, sheet metal work, and assembly processes to support production flow.
Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols.
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to troubleshoot issues related to surface finishing or fabrication processes.
Experience
Proven experience in metal finishing or polishing within a manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with CNC machinery including CNC programming, CNC laser cutting, CNC milling machines, CNC lathe, and plasma cutting is highly desirable.
Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), blueprint reading, and quality inspection techniques.
Mechanical knowledge related to machining, fabrication, tooling, and assembly processes.
Experience operating hand tools, precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers), cranes or hoists for material handling is preferred.
Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations during finishing processes.
Prior experience with welding or electrical discharge machining is a plus but not required.
